MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to steward the grief process as a community of artists by inviting opportunities to hold space for loss and pain. We believe healing can happen in a deeper, more profound way when we process pain together through creative expression and community.
Our Values
Creativity
Art has the power to change ourselves and the world.
By harnessing the power of creativity and individual expression, Peace Tree Collective invites imagination, curiosity, and play into our retreats, performances, and workshops.
Community
We are centered around communal healing, building relationships, and fostering collective joy.
Community is central to the healing process. We are committed to serving our local community in Portland, Oregon through our retreats, workshops, and events.
Healing
Peace Tree Collective advocates for holistic embodied healing for grief of all shapes and sizes.
When we weave a multitude of practices (movement, writing, meditation, group activities) together, we are better able to deepen the integration of healing into our lives.
Spirituality
We believe creativity, community, and healing are spiritual acts.
Loss forces us to face our own mortality, and pain often confronts our lives with beautiful mystery and paradox. We recognize that pain and grief are processed with our whole selves— body, mind, soul, and spirit.
