What are Healing Movement Retreats?

Healing Movement Retreats are all-day events including a variety of activities including somatic movement therapy, journaling, guided discussion circles, and the opportunity to create an ephemeral site-specific “happening” to be witnessed by others.

These full-day retreats are thoughtfully structured to invite participants to slow down, spend time in nature, and form lasting and deep connections with other participants. When we intentionally carve out time and space to rest, create art, and be present as a community, we are better able to weave the pains of grief into our ongoing lives.

Why Retreats?

Healing Movement Retreats offer participants the time and space to process grief through a combination of our four pillars: community, creativity, healing and spirituality. Our approach is rooted in self-reflection, artistic exploration, and a movement-based therapeutic curriculum. This work aims to witness each other with compassion and empathy through shared creativity in order to invite deeper healing within ourselves.

FAQ

  • Peace Tree Collective welcomes everyone who seeks healing to attend. We champion diversity; everyone is welcome to participate in our events regardless of identity, age, or financial capabilities.

  • Healing Movement Retreats are for everybody and every body. If you are curious about somatic healing and are looking for a sacred space to explore movement, the retreat is for you! Our experienced somatic facilitators will walk you through each step of the way.

  • Due to the nature of these retreats it is important that we create a safe and supportive “container” for all attendees.

Building trust requires intention and time which is why we require participants to be available for the entirety of the day.

  • Nature is essential to Peace Tree Collective. All Retreats are held in spaces with expansive access to nature, where we can learn from the cycles of loss and birth constantly unfolding in animals and wild environments.

The Healing Movement Retreats will take place at Zeke’s Farm, 20 acres of farmland within the Willamette Valley near Bald Peak State Park outside Hillsboro, OR.

This place has been incredibly healing and we enjoy sharing it with others. Within Zeke’s Farm there is an abundance of nature for you to draw inspiration from and connection to.

  • The suggested event fee for a day-long retreat is $150, though participants can pay what they can.

This fee includes dinner and refreshments throughout the day, and allows us to continue these retreats sustainably. We can keep this fee low due to the generous contributions of our team and other supporters who donate their resources.

Peace Tree Collective guarantees access to all our programming, regardless of economic means.
